Elke Mader is a professor at the Department of Cultural and Social Anthropology. Her research focus lies on

• Myth and ritual: concepts, dynamics, transfers

• Anthropology of the Amazon region, ethnography of Shuar and Achuar

• Visual anthropology, cinema and film

• Bollywood and globalisation, Indian cinema in transcultural contexts.
