Hanna Klien-Thomas is conducting her dissertation project at the Department of Cultural and Social Anthropology at the University of Vienna and received a DOC fellowship by the Austrian Academy of Sciences. Her research on transcultural media practices focuses on

• Visual practices of the Indian and African diaspora

• Media in the context of globalisation and digitalisation

• Agency and cultural appropriation

• Performativity in intersectional and post/decolonial gender theories.
